The Book is Open

Time stands, as the lost of this womans daughter drives her to the sea. She is unable to contain her mind as her heart begins to freeze. She cries out to the gods in hate, as the last of her will is sweeped with the tide. As she wondered off into the darkness of the waters, madness seems to take what is left of her. Her body loses the last of its shine as it turns to an ashen white. Her legs form a blood red veined tail that seems to darken with her taste for revenge. As her mothers hate consumes her she listens to the voices that fill her mind.

One night as the dawn began to approach she hide behind a stone crevice to watch the sailors dock. She heard a movement in the water as she moved closer. Off of the shores of Aglarond Bay a group of mers began to form. She watched as she began to learn.

An older male stood out amoung the rest as he rouse from the waters. As if to lead and orcestra. His head hung high to the heavens as he opens his arms from the waters. As he raised his arms his voice rang out across the ocean. The others joined in as the sun began to crest over the herizon.

Jennidia stayed in the shadows as she watched the song of the mers sing in rejoice to the sun, and the sea. They sang for all life, and happiness. As the song began to subside Jennidia slide from the rock and decended to her grotto. Yet she heard a movement behind her.

She quickly turned as the same male stood behind her eyesing her through his golden eyes. "Tala" he spoke, in a firm yet comforting way. He was well formed with adorned jewels on his arms, and neck. Showing he was of high importance. Jennidia eyed him not sure if she was going to fight. The merman stepped forward as he approached her. She straightened her stance as she showed no signs of fear, just concern in her being. He too seemed not to sure of her as his eyes darted across her own.

She did not speak as she had no words to say. The male finding there was not going to be any on going remarks puffed out his chest as if this was not the first time he had introduced himself. "I'm Orion, Mate to Lady Drea keeper of the Mer People of Aglarond. Who might you be?" Jennidia's thoughts pondered for a moment as she reconized the name of the merman. They had met before on a few accasions with her husband. Being the consort of the King of Fae brought her to be known to many leaders of the land. For meetings of the mind had taken place. She was known as the Lady of Balsidhe, yet she never really spoke informaly to many.

She noded to the merman and spoke clear and strong. "I know of you Lord Orion, we've met a few. I am Jennidia." His golden eyes seem to take in the knowledge as he looked past her lost in thought. He slowly came back to his sense as he looked over her form speaking in the form of a question. "You are the lady of Balsidhe?..." His voice tailed off not sure how to finish such a question. Her eyes lowed as did her guard as she realized he was not a foe. "Many find their paths, yet mine is astray...at the moment" she spoke softly, more to herself.

The merman noded "Aye, it maybe so yet we are cousins. I've never seen a Fae become a mer before" he said watching her. Memories flooded her mind of the time when she ran from Balsidhe towards the shore of Aglarond Bay, screaming as she tore her gown from her running out to the sea, praying for the tide to take her under. Yet she did not drawn. A thing that Sidhe can not do. They cannot drawn, yet as she struggled against the current her mind became black as a flash struck her binding her legs as the dark crimson scales formed.

Orion spoke to bring her thoughts back."Lady Jennidia, you seem lost. May I be of assitance". Jennidia shook her head as she cleared her mind of the pain of such a change. She looked at the merman as she thought of her own question "What was that you were singing earlier?" Orion grined as he again puffed out his chest in a form of pride. "That is the song of the mer-people passed to the sea, to greet the sun as it graces our waters." Jennidia noded as she listened feeling his pride of the sea, and of his clan. "May I learn such a song?" she asked. Orion pondered for a moment and noded "Aye Lady Jennidia you may, since you are of the mers. I don't see why not"

Jennidia smiled as they continued on their conversation as he taught her how to sing to the sun, and the sea. After a while she too formed her own voice. Yet the desire to sing to the sun was not what caught her mind. After a time she continued to visit Orion as he taught her the ways of the mers. Eventually he introduced her to the rest of the mer-people along with his lovely Mate, and his beautiful daughter.

The mers seem to do everything together. They even went on hunting parties as they took only what they needed to survive. Orion seemed to be one of the most skilled males when it came to hunting, since his skin blended in with the sea plants. His prey seemed to not tell him from the plants. Which was a bad mistake on their part. Jennidia began to understand how he was looked upon so well. He was very wise, and always made sure each member of the clan was well cared for.

Jennidia began to respect Orion more, as she watched him lead his people. Lady Drea had taken it upon herself to make herself well known to Jennidia since she was the leader of this clan. Which Jennidia took great care in. She knew this was not her clan so she respected their notice of her. She learned that no matter what may take her that mer's never shed blood amoung themselves. They are all family and none will break such a bond.

A rule Jennidia learned very early on. As Jennidia continued to learn of the ways of the mers, she found herself growing farther, and farther away from the clan. One night as she was sitting upon a rock watching Orion train another male how to hunt for fish. A strange shark-like male wondered over to Orion. He asked if Orion knew of a mer named Jennidia. Orion raised his eyes up to the rocks and noded in her direction.

The shark-like male wondered over and bowed at her feet. "M'lady, I have been searching for you since I have wondered into these waters" Jennidia stared at the male blankly as she watched him stare at her tail. She moved her hand as in a way to rise as he noded straightening his stance. "What do you seek from me?" She asked. "My Master has beseeched you. He ask for you to seek him out." Jennidia eyed the male as she noded "Tell your Master he may speak to me. I will be here the next eve." He noded and slide from the shore back to the waters and out from sight. Orion wondered over to Jennidia and asked her who the male was. She merely shook her head and shrugged "No idea".

"Hmm... we shall keep an eye on him then" Orion spoke seeming a bit concerned. Jennidia told him that he was to return with his Master the next eve. Orion noded and spoke of sleep. She too agreed and off she slide to her grotto.

The next eve she wondered back to her rock as Orion began to show the younger male how to make a spear. As they talked amoungest themselves Jennidia watched as a full moon apeared behind some clouds. Rising from the waters a beast rose. Jennidia watched as this being slide from the waters. It was a creature she had never seen before. He had pointy hair, beautiful golden armor, and instead of legs, or a tail he had tenticles. He placed his hand on his chest planting and bowed to Jennidia "Tala Queen Jennidia" he spoke with a strong voice. Jennidia blinked as she stared at this creature. Orion handed the younger mer his spear as he swam over towards Jennidia, and the creature.

"Tala Sir" Orion spoke strong yet openly. The male creature turned to Orion as he noded "Tala" he responded with a strong sense of being. Orion looked past the male towrads Jennidia and spoke clearly "Everything okay Lady Jennidia". Jennidia noded as she watched the squid like creature. "Aye I am well" Orion leaned against the rock as in a way to say that he was not going to go far. The younger male wondered over as he began to speak to Orion about different types of fish. They began to engross themselves in conversation as the squid like creature turned to Jennidia.

"My Queen, I have searched the seas for you." he said as he lowered his head. Jennidia spoke in a confused yet strong mannor. "I am not royalty amoung mer M'lord, so I am no Queen." The male blinked as he lifted his head to her. "Aye m'lady but you are. You are the Queen of the Abyss, you are the mistress of all that is darkness in the sea." She was lost for words, as she listened to this creature speak to her of pain and hate. "My army is yours my Queen" he said as he bowed lower.

Orion looked up as he cleared his throat. "M'lord, I've not known of your kind, yet you speak of an army. May we speak of what you seek here." The creature stood in front of Jennidia as he seemed to take command. You could clearly see he was a creature of military as he took command of his own stance. He puffed out his chest in pride as he spoke of his men, and the travels they seek. "I seek to ride the land-walkers of their disgrace amoung our waters M'lord" the creature spoke with a quant bow reconizing Orion's stature.

"And how to you suppose this happen Sir" Orion said with his golden eyes turning into a form of question. The creature stood strong as he ran his hand over his weapon "Any means necissary M'lord". Orion shook his head and spoke openly "Sir, you seem of great mind, yet we mer-people are a peaceful race, and have worked hard to bring peace with man, I wish no war with them" The creatured noded in understanding "Aye that maybe so, but they are vile creatures tresspassing on our waters. A time will come to chose cousin." Orion noded and understood the creatures words, as he motioned to the younger mer to depart. "Lady Jenndia it is growing late, I must return to Lady Drea, will you be well?" Jennidia was not to sure herself but she did not wish to seem frail so she noded "Aye, I will be well thank you Orion"

After hours of converstation the creature taught Jennidia the power's that was given to her. The abilities that her mother Lilith had sent to her, and why she was a mer. So many quesitons this creature filled her thoughts with. Finally she knew her perpase, and it was not to serves...it was to command. To destroy all that was in her way, and this creature this beast of many gave her the weapon and power she needed.

As the night went on her heart grew colder as the vision of blood shed filled her thoughts. The creature noded to her as the morning began to rise. "I must return your highness. I will return. My servant is at your command." he bowed one last time as he wondered back to the debts of the sea. She too returned to her grotto as she thought of things to come. Wondering if her own husband knows of her absense after so long. Only the darkness will know....
